I'm Cherry Dana. I've spent more than fifteen years in the adult industry — building an audience, losing it, and building it back from scratch, mostly before the world had a comfortable word for what I do. I've been the face of a national adults-only app, one of the highest-earning Australians in my space, and an award-winning industry ambassador with a following close to a million people. I built all of it myself: no manager, no agency, and no one ahead of me to copy.

This is the short version, in my own words. The longer version — the chapters that never fit in a caption — lives over at cherrydana27.com.

Newcastle, five jobs and a bikini

I grew up in Newcastle and did things my own way from the start. I finished Year 12 over two years because I was already dancing full time, and by my early twenties I was back from a stint dancing in Mexico, competing in bikini competitions, working five part-time jobs and still barely covering rent.

Lingerie waitressing was a practical decision long before it was a career. I had the bikini background, so I figured if I was going to be in one anyway, I may as well get paid properly for it — fewer hours, more money. I did that for years before topless work ever came into it. I wasn't building a brand or chasing some grand plan. I was thinking about that week's rent.

620,000 views a day — and what it cost

One night my sister Jules and I started a Snapchat account on the couch. I'd seen a girl overseas go viral doing something close to what I was already doing and figured I could too. Within weeks I was pulling 620,000 views a day. I already had around 150,000 followers on Instagram, but this was something else — I was just talking to people, being myself, and it was landing in a way nothing ever had.

What nobody tells you is what it costs to be that visible, that early, in a space the world hadn't decided was acceptable yet. There were no creators ahead of me to learn from. No agency, no manager, no bots running things in the background — every message, every reply, every conversation was me, in real time. The connection people felt was real because it genuinely was.

So was the abuse. The trolling, the people who went looking for my family, the year my sister spent working out of a back room at her job simply because she was associated with me. I copped the full weight of it on my own, before any of this was normal.

78 cents and starting again

Then it all came apart. The accounts I'd built were taken down and there was nothing I could do to get them back — more than a million followers, collected over years, gone overnight. There was a stretch around 28 or 29 where, after everything I'd built and earned, I was down to about 78 cents to my name and starting again from zero.

So that's what I did. I rebuilt across every new platform as it appeared, long before COVID turned OnlyFans into a household name, and became one of the highest-earning Australians in the industry — featured in national press and named an Alpha Female Ambassador. I've been taken advantage of more than once by people who assumed that because of what I do, I'd be an easy mark. I've built things that turned out to be unsustainable and lost income streams I'd worked years for. Through all of it I never had a manager, an agency or a mentor in my corner — just me, working it out. Sometimes brilliantly. Sometimes expensively.

CherryDTV

Somewhere in there I built CherryDTV — a platform to educate and support people in the adult industry, and to show the world there was far more to it than the assumptions. It ranked 145,000th out of four million websites inside six months. I crashed it myself in a single day from the traffic. I built a creator network, mentored other women through building their own profiles, and was doing creator coaching years before anyone had a name for it.

CherryDTV is everything I've learned poured back into the community that raised me. My goal is to normalise sex. My mission is to educate and entertain. Nothing is off the table.

The diagnosis that explained everything

In January 2025 I was finally diagnosed with high-functioning ADHD. Perimenopause was what tipped it over the edge — the hormonal shift stripped away the coping mechanisms I'd been running on for decades, and suddenly a lifetime of starting things, burning bright, losing momentum and rebuilding from scratch made complete sense. I wasn't lazy. I wasn't too much. I wasn't incapable. I'd just been doing all of it without ever knowing why it was so much harder for me than it looked from the outside.

The Adults Corner

The Adults Corner is where I stopped performing and started telling the truth out loud — survival, reinvention, sex, mental health, dating, burnout and everything in between, one honest conversation at a time. Season One is out now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and everywhere else you listen. Season Two is coming.

I've been the product long enough. Now I'm the narrator.
